What’s the backstory?

Cheryl and Graham recently retired IT consultants from London, have developed Figs on the Funcho as a retreat and digital nomad venue over the last 10 years. We grew up in Africa and whilst living in London we dreamed of living in a warmer climate and have now made it a reality.

Graham provides training and coaching services for Agile and Scrum teams and runs scrum boot camps at the venue.

Drinking and dining?

The Digital Nomad package at Figs on the Funcho not only includes accommodation but also includes food!

Enjoy a variety of healthy breakfast options under the carob trees with views of the lake. Breakfast options include fresh fruit, Cheryl’s homemade granola on Greek yoghurt, freshly-baked muffins, oat porridge served with local Algarve lavender or carob honey and freshly squeezed orange juice or smoothies. Breakfasts are served each day with a brunch on Sunday morning.

Lunches are light and healthy, these could include Toastie sandwiches, sweet corn fritters, Cheryl’s homemade soup and local bread. Lunches are served Monday’s through Friday.

Graham is a keen cook and is an avid follower of Ottolenghi, Jamie Oliver, Bosh Boys and the Happy Pear. Cheryl and Graham have joined many cooking experiences including a cooking experience during their recent visit to Thailand.

A variety of flavoursome vegetarian dishes that include homemade stews, dahls, curries, lasagne, pizza nights and fish barbecue on Fridays. All meals are prepared in their riverside farmhouse kitchen using fresh produce from our local village market. Dinners are served Monday’s through Friday.

Alternatively, if you wish to eat out the nearest town is around 3 km that has a variety of restaurants to choose from.

An honesty bar that includes local wines from the vineyards nearby is run in our communal area.

Service is smooth and thoughtful.

Cheryl and Graham can arrange a masseur, yoga teacher, SUP guide to come to the property or bird guides and walking guides to accompany you on your walks.
