Thursday

On arrival, join us for a welcome dinner with local specialities accompanied by Portuguese wines. Savour the flavours and relax – the perfect start for any holiday!

Friday

Tuck into breakfast on the terrace but don’t over indulge, as you are off to have lunch at an authentic Portuguese restaurant with an award-winning wine cellar. Explore their extensive collection of port and wine before tucking into a delicious and traditional Portuguese lunch. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon back at The River House. Then meet for sunset cocktails on the Waterfront Deck before dinner – a mouth-watering local delicacy called Cataplana, a traditional Portuguese stew cooked in a copper dome shaped dish.

Saturday

Another delicious Algarve breakfast before heading off to one of the regions finest food markets. You’ll also have time to explore and purchase Portuguese souvenirs and products. Many of the stall owners will let you sample before you buy!

We return to The River House for a light buffet lunch before you take part in your very own Culinary Cooking Class. During the class, you’ll be taught how to prepare and cook some of Portugal’s finest cuisine under the guidance of a culinary chef. The class also includes a wine-tasting session to introduce you to some of the Algarve’s finest wines. Your 3-course dinner is served on the Pool Deck with magnificent sunset views over the water. This is when you truly appreciate this beautiful location and conversation gets lively as the evening progresses.

Sunday

After breakfast on the terrace, another Culinary Cooking Class with wine tasting. Prepare another delicious 3-course lunch, which you get to enjoy with the group under the all-year-round Algarve sunshine. Later on, we visit the historical town of Silves and the famous Cafe Ingles; widely accepted as the most charismatic restaurant in the Algarve. Cafe Ingles exudes class, and combines fantastic food with entertainment such as Jazz, Jam-sessions from musicians from around the world, art and poetry; making it a superior dining experience – one you’ll never forget!

Monday

Sadly, after breakfast, the culinary cooking experience has to end – though many people come back time-and-time again, especially at different times of the year as the produce and menus change according to the seasons. If you are staying at The River House in the future, don’t forget you can also incorporate the a 4-hour Holiday Cooking Master Class Experience as part of an extended stay.
